Ello there :)
Did you know that you could move from a centuries old Hindu temple to a futuristic metropolis within a half and hour and you don't even own a Tardis to do so? I am sending best regards from the southernmost place I have ever visited. Welcome to Kuala Lumpur and let me show you five awesome places that you definitely shouldn't miss.
1/ KLCC and the Petronas Towers
Everyone knows them... While maybe not the most valuable historic site of the city, these two half a kilometer high beauties are the most iconic landmarks of KL and Malaysia in general. With their 88 stories and 450 meters they are up today the tallest twin towers in the world. And if you are interested, you may take an elevator and visit the observation deck on the iconic bridge, connecting the two towers 170 meters above the ground. Also, there is a lovely park nearby and if it gets too hot (which it gets, trust me), you may have a nice shopping spree in the KLCC shopping center at the ground levels of the towers.
2/ Batu caves
You haven't been to KL if you haven't visited this iconic Hindu temple at the outskirts of the city. Just go to the Central train station and take a train for like 4 MYR (something over 1 euro) and in half an hour you are there. You can alternatively book an organised trip there, but why to pay dozen times more if you don't have to, right?
Once you're there, take a picture and go climb up the stairs... It will be a bit challenging in the tropical heat, but it is definately worth it. Entrance is free.
A beware the monkeys, they do not like to be petted. (Trust me, I tried).
3/Sultan Abdul Samad Building
Do you wanna be in Asia and feel like in Spain? Don't miss this amazing building from the colonial era. Once it used to be the seat of the british colonial administration, today there are offices of the tourism ministry of Malaysia. You may not be able to get inside, but just walking around and in the courtyard is definitely worth your while. And don't forget to stop by on the banks of the Klang river nearby, it offers a very nice view of the skyline of the city, the new and the old. Just see the main photo :)
4/ KL Tower
Do you want to see the city from the bird's perspective, but also don't want to see the magical view of the Petronas towers? Then take a short walk from the city center and visit the KL Tower. You can find here the highest observation point in Kuala Lumpur and after a 56 second trip by an elevator, a 360 degree view of the city opens for you. Don't miss it for the world :)
5/ Jalan Alor
Aside from the tourist attractions, this place will please every food lover. Hosting dozens of restaurants and street food booths, as well as trinkets and souvenirs vendors, the Jalan Alor is one of the most famous and well known roads in Kuala Lumpur. Being a mostly immigrant city, Kuala Lumpur is a spectacle of asian cousine. So, if you are interested in tasting something for a fraction of its price anywhere, or just enjoy the feel of an asian street marketplace, this is a place for you. :)
And that's all for now :) See you next time :)

Just a regular guy wandering the world, trying to show you it is not as messed up as it appears :)
